In our twenty-first century, it is common that material possession and interest in societal fashion are placed higher in importance to our everyday lives. What most people don’t fully recognize, however, is how the attention then has shifted away from economic and proper urban development in areas which need it most. Although aware of these details, most do not take the time to address and aid these issues. I decided to use this opportunity to photograph beautiful women and their everyday clothes against a run-down environment to create this contrast. In most, the scene blends in, as though just a part of daily life and in the “background” of where the focus lies on these models. One will see, however, that through a closer look at the environment, there is a lot that needs to be seen. My work is inspired by artist Stephen Shore and his fashion work in uncommon places.
